Evil game developers force you to waste time 'leveling up' in order to raise your 'stats' and not 'die'. Notice how all of these things are unnatural conceits forced upon you BY those same developers. We have all been played for fools.

4. I make the assumption that the 'man who wakes up one morning with a mysterious plastic knob on the back of his head' is the protagonist of the absurdist novella. This is not actually known for certain. It could be that the man in question merely has a pivotal role in the plot.

3. I make the unsubstantiated assumption that the absurdist novella is intended to receive a title 'in the future'. This is not known for certain. It may be interpreted from the phrasing 'untitled right now', that it could be intended to receive a title in the future.

1. For some reason I capitalized 'absurdist novella'. This was a poor choice. It conflates the description of the novella itself with its potential title. 2. I claim it is untitled at the time, but this could not be known for certain. It is more accurate to say it was untitled at the time of the OP.
