They remind me of the El Santo fotonovelas by José G. Cruz (He made quite a bit of money off of them and sadly never gave it to El Santo who needed it), mostly because they’re the only photo comics I’ve seen, but they carry a similar melodramatic tone. But it’s cool to see carry something on.

It’s a great book that you should read. The show Homicide: LOTS is amazing as well, it’s what pushed me into buying the book.
