My point is not the comparison of two different historical forces. That would make no sense. My point is the need for a self-critical stance with regard to history.

I am not sure how convincing this it. It would mean that we Germans accept the Nazi regime as the fabric of our past, rather than shaping a new fabric out of rejecting it.

Doing so will not create imbalance, as pledges are conditional on finding at least the same number of donors. If 300 people each pledge up to 500€, and time runs out, they each give 300€.

So auf dem Punkt gebracht! Danke. Zu überlegen wäre aber auch, ob man wirklich den Topos der Macht der Bilder bedienen sollte. Man kann ihn als latent antidemokratisch oder als Chiffre für den Souverän, das Volk, verstehen, wenn man ein kollektives Imaginäres voraussetzt. Ist das zu wünschen?
