I’m excited to continue working on my teaching next month at the @hefnu.bsky.social Summer Institute! I look forward to working with professors, ECRs, and PhD students for two weeks this summer at an integral time in my academic career

The reality of course about the Holocaust is that it will be demanding, both intellectually and emotionally. Weekly my students and I covered complex and challenging topics, and their willingness to show up, learn, and contribute made our sections on Thursday a highlight of my week

I have another semester of teaching under my belt! This semester I was a TA for JS211: The Holocaust. Teaching a history of fascism as an international student in the US came with many challenges and reflections. I’m grateful to work with kind and intelligent colleagues who enhanced my classrooms

I have worked with memoirs published by the @azrielifoundation.bsky.social since my undergraduate days in the @ubc-cenes.bsky.social department at the University of British Columbia, and I look forward to continue my work with the Foundation throughout my PhD!

I was delighted to be invited to speak at the @azrielimemoirs.bsky.social International Conference ‘The Role of Auschwitz in Holocaust Narratives.’ I spoke about how gender appears as a causal and analytical factor in these memoirs. The whole conference was incredibly stimulating!

There are many opportunities provided by this colloquium, including having a panel accepted for @thegsa.bsky.social this September!

I also continued my participation in the @uscshoahfoundation.bsky.social Non-Residential Colloquium on Gender and Sexual Violence during the Holocaust. This is a great initiative led by Dr. Jennifer Rodgers, bringing together senior scholars, PhD students, and ECRs

I had the privilege of conducting another @uscshoahfoundation.bsky.social Foundation oral history interview. Mr. Frankenstein and I spent an afternoon chatting about his childhood hiding in the Netherlands during the Holocaust and his postwar life in the United States
