I'm sure my latest sewing project is cursed, so taking a break to work on my Christmas knit. Been wanting to make a sock weight Flax for ages. Surprised at how much I've managed to do in a week. But will I get through the body and sleeves in the next month without getting bored? #knitting #knitsky

I finished these #frenchnavylangston trousers a while ago and have been wearing them a lot! A very wearable mock up! No adjustments needed as I love the relaxed fit. Perhaps a slightly narrower waistband, but this may sit better with the heavier weight denim I'm using next. Continued in comments

First attempt at a fly zip. I don't think I did too badly! Perhaps a touch more overlap needed and a tidier topstitch. Think I might regret the zip with the bobble pull, but I wanted to use something I already had in my stash #sewing #garmentsewing #sewsky

New favourite thing I've made! Wasn't getting on with the 70's western shirt, so decided to use this McCalls pattern I've made before & drafted my own yoke. Fabric was a remnant, so happy I was able to get the cowgirl on both sleeves. Brain on collar=happy accident #sewing #garmentsewing #sewsky

Weekend sewing plans on hold because I'm sick. Knitting these socks for a good friend because my brain can't handle anything more than stockinette stitch right now. First time making men's socks. As a UK size 4 foot, these seem so massive to me! #knitting #sockknitting #knitsky

Glad this is a mock up, because I have really fucked up this collar. I should have traced on the stitch lines. The point where the stand meets the collar was pure guesswork and my guess was wrong! I'm now not really sure I like how it sits anyway. Time for a rethink. #sewing #garmentsewing #sewsky

I finally blocked some socks. Yarn: Mind the Gap by Trailing Clouds. Self striping in the colours of the London Underground lines, which makes my inner train nerd happy. Added the purple contrasts for the Elizabeth Line. Pattern: Electric Side by Rhy Flower Knits #knitting #sockknitting

I've been on a #sockknitting kick lately (I'll post pics when I get round to blocking them!), so asked family to buy me hand-dyed yarn for my birthday last week. And boy, did they deliver! Some lovely colour choices here. Especially love the one on the right from my husband. #knitting

I still have a lot of work to do to get my sewing space refresh finished, but so far, I'm loving the new sewing desk. Having the sewing plate the same height as the desk and the extra space for the fabric to lie when under the machine......game changer!

I've really lost my sew-jo recently. Reasons include: 1, A little niggle in my shoulder when hunching over my shitty "sewing table" (a re-purposed shelf unit!). 2, my workspace is an inefficient mess that stresses me out! Decided to redesign the space & treat myself. Wish me luck!

Took a holiday in our campervan last week. The weather was amazing, and the views around the Dorset coast and Cheddar were spectacular. Sad to be home (and the weather is cold again!), but I feel really refreshed. Eager to start planning some new sewing & knitting projects after a nice break.

Spent the last 2 days sewing and my @maisonfauvetigris coat is nearly complete. Isn't she gorgeous? Still needs buttonholes and a really good press, but I'm very proud of myself right now. Best looking thing I've ever sewn #sewing #sewsky #garmentsewing
