Slightly weird brag but I’m very proud. Normally I zone out during the sequences round of Only Connect during BBC2’s quiz night. I don’t really understand it so I don’t bother but last night I got a question right and quite early on. 🤓 Weird nerd brag that I’m pleased with.

It’s Pickle’s 8th rescue anniversary! We call it In A Pickle Day. A tiny and weak ginger and white kitten was trying to catch bugs to eat in the Congo jungle. I’m so proud of my bestie. Here’s to many more nose boops, getting covered in muck and biting me for no reason. Keep it purry and silly.

The new Thursday Murder Club book has arrived, my parents brought a lot of cake at a charity coffee morning, I have cupboard full of vintage China tea cups and the cat is in a particularly kissy mood. Today I shall be living the cosy girl dream.

We had pies for dinner and with my dark sense of humour I put the sound track of Sweeney Todd on. Turns out it was what I need to get me back to singing along. Of course I left out the bits about all the neighbours cats disappearing cos I don’t want to alarm Pickle. 😂

Recommendations please. Searching for light, amusing tv viewing suitable to watch with my mum. Her two requirements are around 30 mins or less and nothing upsetting.

I had lovely cuddles with my cat earlier. Pickle snuck in and for once gave me a little bit of purrsonal space. Close enough to stroke but enough room to breathe and not have paws digging into me. Then he purred so hard the mattress rumbled too!

It’s 28c with me and it’s officially hotter than Africa. I’ve changed T-shirts cos the sweat was disgusting but my dad and the cat (who’s Congolese) are happily sitting outside. What?

Has anyone tried cooling blankets and had success? We’ve only had a few hot days so far this month but I’m already sick of them. I’m one of those people who can’t sleep without being thoroughly cocooned in blankets so going without would be an exhausting option.

Me and my mum have a cute chilled music thing lately. I go to the cd shelf, close my eyes and pick a cd. Tonight’s first pick was Kaiser Chiefs. Ah yes, indie rock chill. 😂 Next pick was Josh Groban and I laughed even harder cos there’s always a strong chance of Groban in my life. 😏 Not sorry.

Whovians, did you guys think Jodie’s face looked different in Saturdays episode? Not cos of the wig. I’m wondering if they digitally airbrushed her. Why you would alter her lovely face, I don’t know. She looks normal in the stills and on Unleashed.

I’ve stubbed toes on both feet within quarter of an hour of each other. I don’t walk much on account of chronic illnesses but this kind of thing happens when I do. A hazard.
