Retiree. My cats run my life. They could do a better job of it, but they're cats. 😸 Also a long-time Detroit Lions fan. I don't blame my cats for that. Hello to any #UglyDogs from the old place. I'm not here to see how many followers I can get.
It's hilarious/frustrating how difficult it is to get a clock back onto a support nail. Too much guesswork. (My one wall clock is just a ten buck cheapie, but I end up wondering why I've put myself in this situation when I have to change the battery.)

It's not superhero universe franchises, which have contorted themselves to explain/include different iterations of characters. (Three Spider-Men was fun, the curveball at the end of The Flash was fun, but this multiverse crap, generally is not.)

I think that it was Siskel from whom I first heard "These were two hours of my life that I'll never get back." Might have been Ebert, but I'm pretty sure it was Gene.

I loved those two.

That was a surprise!

I have lived this. A couple of hoodies no longer have drawstrings, just a tangle of weird threads.

"Get squirmy!"

So many of these images have whole stories behind them that we'll never know, which is intriguing, and something that we lose with the move away from physical media.

That was what I liked about the one annual conference - it was specific to my area, the organizers always geared it to our concerns, and it was great to share common experiences. And the people were smart and nice.

Years later when I was in higher ed admin, my usual response to conference invitations was "Why can't they just put it online?" There was only one annual one that was worth it, and nearby.

I also endorse comfortable shoes, no matter one's situation.

Many years ago when I was teaching, I went to a conference in Manhattan. After looking through the session catalog, Devil on My Shoulder said "New York City is right outside that door." I had a great time. Went to a couple of sessions out of guilt but I made good memories.

And to his point, I think that the show does inspire philosophical and cultural conversation. I'd love to sit with that writers' room and just ask questions.

God forbid people read in public. 🤪
