Former tech drone, living in L.A. I now create digital reconstructions of ancient Greek and Roman sculpture. No, really. 🏳️‍🌈

This is so discouraging.

We’re trying our best, even if the sunsets insist on being overly dramatic. 🍹

Very close. Compostela, about an hour north of PV. Out of the maddening crowds.

It’s horrific. Horrifically relaxing.

How could I not? OK, the scorpion in my shoe was a surprise … 🦂

OK, I’ll have a third …. 🍹

Well, that’s just it. I can imagine the shaping of an octagon - just barely - but the perfect twisting blows my brain. These were obviously very skilled artisans who had done this many times before.

Seriously, I’m laying on a chaise on the deck here in the warm evening breeze, reading a book. I can’t imagine a worse fate. 📖 🍷 😁

It always scares the bajeezus out of me whenever I see this theater. I mean, you just know some people stumbled and fell to their deaths.

I just don’t get how the faceting can be so exact and how they control the twisting so exactly … my brain is boggled.

Torcmas … I love that.

Dang! Caught up in post-Halloween spelling mistakes. I know better. Thanks for the correction, Simon.

And the wires are beveled, too! 😍

Yes, this one is gorgeous - the precision of the form is incredible. Sometimes I just can’t wrap my head around what it took to make torcs like this.

The terrible truth is that most gold items that are stolen will be melted down before any recovery can occur, like the Egyptian bracelet. Thieves care nothing for the historical value. 😞
