New #portfolio post! Hello, my name is Kyx and this is what I do for fun!
All pieces were made this year. I mainly paint with gouache, but also tinker around with small dioramas and minor woodworking. At times, I push pixels.

My design of what Mega #Starmie could have looked like if I were in charge.
The gemstone in the center was a blast and pain to do; it got ~5 revisions WHILE I was painting 😅

A photo of a painting, a concept for the Pokémon Starmie in its mega form. It now consists of two 7 pronged stars. Its main body is coloured teal. The golden gem socket has grown in size, now spanning almost the entire length of the front star's "arms". The socket's topmost prong is a bit longer than the others and contains 3 small red gemstones, signifying that this version is pretty much the third stage of the evolution line. The center gemstone, still red, is now even more intricately cut, with light reflecting off of it.

Working with super glue (named "seconds glue" in my native tongue) for the first time and holy expletive is this stuff nasty. With a literal single touch everything sticks to my hand and is almost impossible to get off without it getting stuck to other fingers.
I now have glue residue on 5 fingers 😭
