Not so much retribution fear here but teachers more or less forced to present both points of view and have to be very careful that kids don’t go home misquoting them in any way.We don’t have the evangelical OTT Christian thing going on in schools here tho’. Much more secular .

Not sure that the govt are particularly interested in knowing what the public want.
It’s what their donors want that drives their policy making decisions.
Unfortunately all politicians from all Parties are controlled by their donors. Sad fact of life.

True but somewhere along the line the Dems need to get their blinkers off.They doubled down on stuff in the campaign which either didn’t reach or didn’t positively affect a lot of folk who might have voted for them.If you create a vacuum, someone like Drumpf will fill it. Groceries/Health/Taxes/Jobs

It’s the same as in the UK in 2016 when roughly the same amount of young ones couldn’t be bothered to vote to Remain in the EU. Now they can’t go and work, study , live there they’re all “Oh no, if only someone had warned us”. Aye….

Do you remember that Xmas Coca Cola advert “ Holidays are coming , Holidays are coming” ? It turns out we misheard and it said “ Oligarchs are coming ,oligarchs are coming” and aren’t we all much more poorer for it? Seems we don’t mind as long as we have some poorer drowning immigrant to point at.
