Today I learned you can walk/bike across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. It was an epic 1 hour walk! Trail starts from War Memorial Park from the Tacoma side.

Bustling squares and shopping streets, vast underground shopping complexes, including full-size supermarkets, indoor shopping malls, public markets, vast parks, nary a graffiti or a vacancy or a "person in crisis" to be seen, calm and narrow streets, transit that shows up within 30 sec to 5 minutes.

I returned from 2 weeks in Scandanavia, and it is a little depressing coming back to Seattle. The central cores of Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki are immaculate, and everything functions together flawlessly.

Girmay might be more progressive overall, but running King County Metro is one of the County government's primary tasks, and it literally isn't one of his priorities.

The Downtown #Seattle 3rd Ave busway and Columbia Street bus lanes completely failing in this pm commute. @seattledot.bsky.social and @kingcountymetro.bsky.social need to learn how to make bus priority work in practice.

I want like Zahilay, but King County government has 2 main responsibilities: the criminal justice system and King County Metro. And anything about transit literally isn't one of his priorities. Balducci has proven her effective support of transit.

I got to Tacoma Dome early; was a long wait for the next ST574 bus, so I jumped on a Pierce Transit local bus that will get me to Federal Way after wandering through Fife and Milton. First time on PT, what do you think about the stroller space?

I just went on this walk, and my Hot Take: the 84 square miles of the City of Seattle should not have any areas that feel backwoods rural (but they do).

I mapped out an itinerary to ride all rail transit in the #Seattle region in one (week)day: 3 Link rail lines (1, 2, T), 2 Sounder commuter lines (N & S), 2 streetcars and the Monorail.

Excited about HB 1837 to set formal speed/reliability goals for Amtrak Cascades in Washington. But why did reliability collapse since 2013, when so many of the 2010-era projects were "reliability improvements?" We need to know what went wrong to avoid a repeat.
