I should have said this is a gift article so not paywalled. 🎁 I thought it was interesting on many levels but also… just adorable sheep. 🐑

"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."

To make room for my beloved piano in our little house, I had to get rid of some books. Proud to say that I managed to weed out 68 books, which were all purchased by the Book Barn in Niantic CT (a treasure). Please clap, this is a huge accomplishment for me.

Luxurious duck-shaped vessel carved from a single piece of rock crystal around 3,500 years ago!

From Bronze Age Mycenae, it is said to be an exquisite example of imported Minoan stoneworking. Probably used to hold oils or cosmetics.

This is such a wonderful read. It’s a novel by one of our great authors, Allegra Goodman, and based on the incredible true story of Marguerite de La Rocque, who was marooned on an island off Canada in 1542. Early modern times in New France, with a feminist twist. Amazing book ❤️

“The book containing religious songs, now known as the Hagenes manuscript, is from the 13th century.
‘This is a preliminary estimate. It may be even older,’ says Palandri.”
Eight pages bound in furry seal skin may be Norway's oldest book
The little book is so rare that the National Library of Norway is bringing in experts from around the world to learn more.
