Okay, I’m going to attempt to get out of this funk I’ve been in since the election, try not to be so effing negative about work. We still need to eat, which means money, which means not snapping at coworkers.

I had breakfast, and coffe, started a good book, small steps.

Kind of feel like Kinnie from Battleground this morning: "It's shining! It's shining!"

Don't really expect to be resupplied from the air, and no German armor threatening from the nearby woods, but sun in Oregon this time of year is most welcome (note, I do love the rain).

Re-reading Life, the Universe, and Everything by Douglas Adams, and the start of the book, from Wowbagger to the rabbit bone to Arthur "shaking" when Ford offers his hand, to the Chesterfield is one of my favorite openings to a book.

Setting: Dermatoligist’s exam room, the Dr, the Dr’s assistant, the patient (me) Dr, lingering over a spot on the right side of the patient’s face, next to the ear: “Hmmm, not sure I like the look of this brown spot.” Patient, to themselves: “Great, I’m gonna bleed, a lot.”

College football, FBS flavor, is the dumbest sport. I like to watch the games, but good grief, everything else surrounding it is just crap. And next season I get to care about Oklahoma playing in the SEC?

I'm sure totally unrelated - I don't watch near as many games now as I did 40 years ago.

A cold, rainy, windy start to the day, and Murphy really did not want to go outside this morning, so, out I went with him. Ears flat, a look of, "WTF, really, your going to make me poop in this weather?" But, he did, and now inside, cosy watching the world go by

Last year at this time, Sir Murphy of The Backyard, claimed his throne of leaves.

This year? Used the lawnmower to bag those up. To be honest? Not near as fun as raking a yard full and finding The Murph's hidden landmines

When the start of the day includes “washing the bacon” because I dropped it on the floor….

Should be a wonderful day.

“He was particularly fond of chicken and during one meal drove his first officer nearly mad with his effort to gnaw every last morsel off a chicken leg.”

Anectdote abot Captain Turner of the Lusitania from Erik Larson’s Dead Wake.

Good grief, we know how this ends…

Oh, this was really really good, yeah Jane found out some stuff and in the process spurred some interesting dreams of scary stuff mixed with math. Well done!

Just a casual fan that watches the NFL because I like to watch football, but last night thought, “How the heck have the Raiders won 3 games??” Oh, Broncos, Packers, Patriots…

Still, interesting game, almost felt sorry for Jimmy G in the 4th quarter.
