Alternatively, tomorrow is arguably the daughter of today, so the day after tomorrow could be "grandtomorrow", the day after that "great-grandtomorrow" and so on. You could then replace the clumsy formula "a week from now" with the elegant and concise "great-great-great-great-great-grandtomorrow".

Rose cultivars are certainly wildly over-hyped and over-selected for colour IMHO. Showy blooms don't do enough to counterbalance their poorly-structured flowers, nasty thorns (usually), blotchy disease-ridden leaves and irresistibility to aphids.

Curious Questions: Why is there no such thing as a truly blue rose? And will we ever have one?
Breeding a blue rose has long been the Holy Grail for plant breeders everywhere. Charles Quest-Ritson, author of the RHS Encyclopedia of Roses, explains why it's proven so elusive.

Absolutely. The word that should be used is "fecundity", not "fertility".

Sweeping generalisation of the day: "Medical practice in the 19th and 20th centuries was crude, and the public sensibly sought to keep physicians (and other health practitioners) away...".
