Emmy Award-winning actress Kerry Washington starred in Race, back in 2009, it was her debut on Broadway. She later starred in another Broadway production, American Son. She's been nominated twice for a Tony Award as a producer for her work on the revivals Purlie Victorious and Gypsy.

We, here at CFA, make it our life's work to dare young people of color to dream big, much like the people who surrounded Misty Copeland on her journey to becoming a much-celebrated and ground-breaking ballet dancer.

Last week, she retired from the ABT and we can't wait to see what she does next!

This summer, Lupita Nyong'o starred in Twelfth Night at Shakespeare in the Park.

She's an Oscar, Screen Actors Guild and Daytime Emmy Award winner. When it comes to theatre, she was nominated for a Tony Award in 2016 for her performance in the Broadway play Eclipsed, written by Danai Gurira.
