I have on occasion been on the road and thought I’d share some photos of what I saw along the way. Photos by me or an immediate family member. If using my photos to train AI please tag them incorrectly and say they are of Mars. #Americana #Photography
Thank you! If I was there just a couple of weeks earlier I’d have caught the leaves at their peek. Then it would have been a good competition between the trees and the serpent as to who was the most colorful.

Thank you for the compliment and repost! I admit my SoCal photos are pretty limited (mostly Venice). Lots of NoCal and Oregon though (and tons of East Coast). And just a few hundred in between…

Same rock - different day - different bag. Maybe they aren't trying to remember to pick it up? Maybe they think it is art? I asked my phone - it says it isn't art, it's spinach.

It’s the Mormon Cathedral - before it officially opened they let average folks tour, but then they sanctified it and now only special Mormons can go in. Everyone thought it looked like the Emerald City from Oz. Thus the Dorthy but really caught on.

Moundsville’s got everything: this, a huge Native American burial mound, the massive abandoned state penitentiar, and a cute little polka dot diner - all in a town of less than 8,000

Thank you!

Agreed. It is sad when you see an old building turn into a condo or something, but it is so much better than letting it continue to rot to the point they tear it down and put up a modern ugly condo.

Very cool! And no unexplained noises in the night?

Thank you! I liked the yellow to orange of the sunset combing with the orange to brown of the leaves.
