Beyond the aesthetics, what changes will be coming to the account? Not much, tbh. Still gonna post the usual stuff that I normally do. That being said, being a bit less concerned with looks, I'll probably be more candid about certain topics, and I may share art from my nsfw art alt account. >v>

I dunno, I feel like a world like that feels much larger and more cosmic than any one author, idea, belief, or way of being could fully encapsulate. Maybe that's just me though.

I want to imagine a world where dragons and non-dragons can co-exist, reconcile, develop friendships, and even fall in love with one another and have families of their own. I want to imagine a world where magic isn't an accident of birth but a path that all can take, but few actually do.

P.S. -- I guess it is fitting that my own WIP, BENEATH A STAR-SHATTERED SKY touches on so many similar topics as what I had to critique about THE OTHER WIND. While this project came about before I read EARTHSEA, it further solidifies the idea I want to get across: a better way is possible.

In any case, I do recommend anyone reading this read the series for themselves. You may find a different way to read the ending than I did. But ultimately, it is a spectacular series that has changed the way I view storytelling as an art. It is, ultimately, truly great speculative fiction.(20/20)

And to Le Guin's credit, there is this mention by Tenar at the end that if she and Ged were to call, they may see Tehanu again, but because of every other bit of context given, it feels more like the quiet prayer of a grieving mother and not actually true. Maybe that was the point, idk. (19/20)

I'm sure this isn't what Le Guin intended with the ending, as she was really, really good about a lot of things, including decolonization/anti-colonialism, but this feels like a major glaring hole at the end of a truly remarkable series that discourages us to imagine beyond the end. (18/20)
