Spotify this morning. My "offer" (whatever that is) expires at the end of 1969.

Shades of Y2K. Maybe they should focus less on ICE ads and military AI.

I posted a thread a few days ago about AI (duckduckgo; google) inventing book titles/synopsis'. The authors of the "books" appear to be real people (though only a few are actually authors).

I wonder if not just "wrong," but "blatant, make stuff up wrong" is a deliberate algorithm.

All 4 are fake:

Here are some screenshots from previous searches (Duckduckgo, however other AI searches net similar results - like "The Score of a LIfetime" a fake "novel" about Clara Schumann - clever, huh)?

I feel kinda bad amplifying fake stuff, but also think it's important that people know about this!

This one's a fixer upper, but I'm sure the governor would still appreciate it.

Different guy, but I'm reminded of this when looking at the pinched faces of Hegwarts and Bondo:

Finally went for it and got cds made of my latest record.

(Streaming's ok,
but it's nice to have physical media with liner notes*

*a quaint term from an earlier era that some might not know.)

Harper (PP's 'mentor') OVERTLY, HORRIBLY muzzled Canadian scientists during his time as PM.

This rendition of Reagan & Bush II sums up the Harper-PP relationship well:

Replying to your xitter post: in 2020 I changed my focus from writing my own music to championing music of historical women composers whose work has gotten short shrift. Very excited & happy with that decision!

Love your songs & support for masking!

A cello concert I played in a week & 1/2 ago:

Cello concert Sat before last. Everyone was masked. And completely chill about it. It was a great night and I'm feeling confident about doing more shows the same way.

This is really good to hear!

Last weekend I organized/performed in a cello concert. Masks required; sold out show. People were completely chill about it; zero weird vibe.

Sometimes, sci-fi is prescient; in this case, it's instant reality:

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑯𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍, by Laila Lalami, pub. Mar 4, 2025.

An article by Canadian actor/recent ICE detainee, Jasmine Mooney, pub. March 19, 2025.

The similarities are chilling, to say the least.

They forgot the Detroit double whammy: flood, then freeze.

At least people remembered to raise their windshield wipers…

A screenshot from "The Etude" magazine, November, 1918. It's frustrating how little progress has been made in 100+ years.

We carry on. There is SOME improvement, but we're still depressingly far from a proper 50% representation of works by women composers.
