Typographic artist using braille as an ironic visual metaphor to express underrepresented ideals and identities.
(She/Her)
You're doing maths, not curating art
I took a look over some of our "leading Light" accounts in the crypto art space. I scrolled back a few weeks, a month or 2 maybe, on each of them, and you know what I saw?
Not a single post talking about art...

Thieves of Eyes & Legs

It is no longer enough to have ones finger on the pulse, now you need to have that blood under a microscope, checking each cell everyday and posting your findings quickly before it oxidises and the content impact is lost.

Mistimed Magic - Technical mastery cant fix poor thinking.

We've all seen this, a stunningly rendered movie monster fills the screen, that shot cuts to the next where the actor stumbles back.... and the cables on which you suspended you disbelief snap....

Standing ovations for simple jokes - How outsized praise distorts outside perception.

We see this with regularity in the art world, some piece is held up, elevated by the oligarchs or institutions, and we all scratch our heads wondering why?

The collective is greater than the corporation - Artists against the machine

A group of titans stands atop us, demanding ever more of our space, and that we pay a subscription for the privilege of what little we have left...

Swarm Tactics- Focusing collectives to amplify messages.

You feel stuck, helpless.
They’ve flooded the feed with noise, so genuine cries can hardly be heard. The news cycle a deranged treadmill chewing our legs off...

Optical alignment - Misplaced notions and outrage.

You’ll see these posts occasionally they’ll take a logo from a large brand, draw centre lines across them, and gleefully tweet about how “big company make dumb mistake” because the image doesn’t line up.

Divine intervention - Shock, Disruption and Senselessness in art.

This notion of shock, of disruption, recurs throughout art history. Each time it occurs it brings forth discussion, and in the ideal, that discussion brings needed change...

You don’t need permission - Guerrilla Art.

From the performance art of protest and its painted placards, through intermingled poetry with political outcry, to replacing a companies hold music with “ciao Bella”, art is needed everywhere now...

They replaced it all with grey - The importance of graffiti

No one ever asked the people if they could destroy the forest. No one asked you if they could block the blue sky with grey bricks and blind the stars with lesser lights...

One of my few physical artworks.
A series of printed receipts & poems documenting and reflecting on the aids epidemic. They denote death toll and moments of defiance

These receipts were then scanned in, recompiled, and printed on birchwood to decompose.

We need more political art.

So much more.

In fact we, as the contemporary wave of artists and collectors, have a responsibility to raise our voices with hard spoken words.

For we teeter on the edge of loss

So we need maps drawn to guide us back to hope & deliver us from evil.

No angel will reach out to stay our hand.

We must accept that the choice is ours.

Do we sacrifice the needs of tomorrow, to indulge our wants today?

Do we lick the boot? Or help pry it off the necks of others.

If there are limitations, create strengths around them. Dont bastardise an idea by forcing it in to another’s skin.

Art first, always.

The Aftermath of Greed

This building stood for over 100 years, it had protected status.

The newest owners left it, much needed housing, vacant, derelict, rotting, for a decade.

Simply because the land was more profitable without the building

The city was recently forced to destroy it for safety.

NASA and JPLs DSN explored through art. Typography, illustration, and digital collage combine with subtle elements of poetry. Focused in particular on Canberra. I sourced the collage elements by collecting and scanning a large amount of vintage paperwork.

A definite contender for my favourite photo of those I’ve taken.

The area is a set of overpasses, the pedestrian is just emerging from a tunnel that has a LED billboard in it providing the backlight.

Shot at 200mm handheld, stretching up over a wall, leaning beneath a railing.

Sometimes photos aren’t perfectly sharp or in focus for whatever reason, but that’s not always an excuse to discard them. Else you run the risk of cutting off your nose to spite your face”

We won’t be stopped;
Be it poverty or madness, missing parts or materials, from glaucoma to government restriction…
We wont be stopped.

Because we can’t stop, the world is too much for us not to react to it, we are violently artistic.

We won’t stop.

Getting better at finding photos and following the light. Trying to vary my editing so as to treat each photo as its own piece, rather than just throw my presets at them.
