i played with a few ideas for this one, but ultimately settled on dredge!au 🥺
Every day, his lover brought things he could not use. Food he could not eat. Tea he could not brew. Flowers he could not water, doomed to shrivel and die upon his table. In and out, as with the flowing of the tide, he stood upon the beach and watched him go. Addled though his spirit may have been, Aymeric recognized it for what it was. Devotion.

In the Ishgard Katias had grown up in, chocolate was a delicacy—a luxury of the nobility, afforded only to those with the wealth to import such an expensive ingredient. His memories of the treat were built on what he had occasionally pilfered from his father’s household, picking through the remnants of lavish desserts never meant for him. It had instilled in him a sweet tooth nevertheless, and the life of a Warrior of Light gave him the means to try whatever treats he wished, whenever he wished them. Yet when Aymeric kissed him—a soft, sudden thing, with the taste of his afternoon tea still lingering on his lips—Katias would have sworn it was sweeter than anything he’d ever tasted.

Aymeric is no stranger to waking up alone, chilled in the wake of the morning Coerthan frost and a dwindling hearth. Dutiful as he is, he is accustomed to discomfort, of a cool stone desk beneath his cheek, of stiff shoulders and a sore back, of a handful of hours fitfully stolen, for there is always more work to be done, and no one else to do it. It is first with confusion, then wonder, that he wakes up one morning to the sun’s rays flitting across his eyes and the form of another tucked against his chest, and finds that he is warm.

It should not have been a difficult thing. He had the ingredients—the eggs, though they were no Dodo eggs, the cheese, though not Ishgardian, and the closest approximation to fresh Coerthan herbs he could find in Tural. He should have known the method, having watched the dish’s preparation on many a hard-won lazy morning. Yet all of his efforts ended in failure, the taste of each omelette undeniably wrong on his tongue. Frustrated, disappointed, and terribly lonely, Katias dropped his head to the table with a quiet thud, and thought of home.

I'm a little late, but happy #aymericday! It's been a tradition for me to make a Stardew!Aymeric post at the end of #wolmeric week, but after two years of work and semi-frequent updates, I really don't have much to share... so here are a few of my favorite lines that are harder to find in game 🌼
