The mythical Phoenix is a symbol of harmony, transformation and peace in Chinese culture. I wanted to feature the Phoenix along with some symbolic flowers in my Chinese Heritage Revival design, my take on the traditional Arts & Crafts design.

Crane in Flight with Flowers is a plate decorated with an applicator for the underglaze. The applicator created a slightly uneven and blobby flow, but it was handmade with love. This plate was a gift for a friend.

Happy Year of the Snake! I realised I hadn't shared this plate I made for my snake-obsessed son. It was decorated with sgraffito carved underglaze painting and finished with Amaco Potter's Choice Saturation Metallic. I had to wash it first - we use it most days.

I think Foxglove flowers are so pretty, and I love the idea of foxes putting their little paws into these soft sweet flowers. But they aren’t so sweet. The leaves, flowers and seeds of the foxglove are toxic and can be fatal to humans and animals! Here's a little fabric collection #design #flowerart
