This has always been the GOP's strategy:

1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves.

2) Explode the deficit.

3) Demand cuts to vital programs that help millions.

4) Repeat.

They're trying to get away with it again.

🇺🇦 Zelensky: Russian strikes are becoming more and more audacious and large-scale every night. 900 strike drones against Ukraine in three days, plus missiles - this makes no military sense, but it is a clear political choice - Putin's choice - the choice to continue fighting and destroying lives.

A vote like this feeds cynicism about the Democratic Party not being real and not being about what they purportedly stand for. It’s pathetic that some of our senators are still not operating as a unified opposition to all aspects of this authoritarian regime.

Last night, 16 Senate Democrats voted with Republicans to advance a crypto-friendly bill that will enable Trump’s corruption.

Instead of standing up to Trump, these 16 Democrats decided they’d rather do a big favor for the crypto industry and legitimize an avenue for Trump to collect bribes.

Who: Congressional Republicans
What: Cutting Medicaid

Why: To pay for tax breaks for the rich
When: We’re voting this week
What’s at stake: 150,000 Minnesotans and nearly 14 million Americans would lose health care if it passes

Tuberville doesn't know the three branches of the U.S. government in which he serves, but he knows that Putin wants Odessa, Crimea, and limits to NATO. And Tuberville can't blame Putin for those demands.

Huh.
Tuberville: "Putin is to the point where he's making so much progress ... he's gonna want a lot from the Ukrainians. He's gonna want a lot in terms of land, possibly even Odessa, he's gonna want Crimea, but he's gonna want NATO to stay away from his borders, and I can't blame him for that."

The Rules Committee meets at 1 AM on Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning to ram through this disastrous bill. Why? Because they don't want you to see them ripping healthcare from millions of Americans.

You do not hold a hearing for a bill at 1 AM unless you're completely ashamed of it.

But last night - late at night - they passed it after promising more cuts to the hard line.
On Friday, we got an important reminder about how we can still fight back. The GOP majorities in Congress are thin — if we keep applying pressure and just 4 Republicans defect, we have a chance to stop these tax breaks for billionaires paid for with cuts to Medicaid and SNAP.

We know exactly why House Republicans will meet in the dead of night on Wednesday to prepare Trump’s budget for the floor—because they’re cowards who want to hide away while they gut health care and food assistance.

They think we won’t notice. They better think again.
