Any school receiving even one dime of voucher money from taxpayers should adhere to the same requirements as public schools.
🎯 @robsandia.bsky.social on Private School Vouchers (for the wealthy) — “CALL THEIR BLUFF… if they want public dollars, they should have to follow the same rules as public schools… it’s not a ‘COMPETITION’ when not everyone is playing by the same rules.”

Today is small business Saturday, so if you're out braving the cold and wet, choose one of St. Joe's excellent small businesses to eat out or shop at!

Budgets are moral documents, and in St. Joe, working people shoulder a heavy burden to finance our city. We owe them good stewardship of their tax dollars and programs that help them thrive.

Yesterday, millions of Americans made their voices heard at the ballot box.

St. Joseph citizens will have that same chance in February and April when we elect a city council that works for working people.

If you're fired up, come and help out the campaign this weekend.

Good policy matters, and if I'm elected, I'm going to gather up ideas from as many smart folks as I can. I'm so excited to hear Chuck Marohn from Strong Towns discuss Housing as Economic Development tonight!

We have to face hard truths and have difficult conversations if we want our city to improve. Today, I had the privilege to hear from folks who are struggling and need help to be able to thrive. This campaign is about listening to and delivering for the working people of St. Joe. See you soon!

Civic engagement should be centered around a future we long for and the path that gets us there. We can struggle on that path, but the vision needs to be what sustains us all through that struggle. Today, I want to talk about something that inspired me this weekend. Have a great week!

The longstanding ramifications and tragedies of Tuesday, September 11, 2001 reverberate even today, 24 years later.

Today was a day with too much violence, in Colorado, in Utah, and even here in St. Joseph.🧵

The fact that this post will almost exclusively be read on a smartphone and will be widely seen on social media is really ironic.
We know that social media is bad for young people, who need more time—and freedom—offline. But the collective will to fix this problem is hard to find.

I couldn't agree more - we need everyone who believes in a government of the people, by the people, and for the people to win this thing!
I think we should be able to hold two somewhat contradictory ideas at once, namely:

1) Centrists need to stop being such babyback bitches when it comes to taking criticism from the left

2) Progressives need to stop being such unapologetic assholes to people they need to build coalitions with
a very high proportion of centrist punditry now just boils down to "progressives yell at me on the internet and i don't like it." you would think that getting paid millions of dollars per year would give you thicker skin
