Those elements would include a customer bio, a description of their challenge, an explanation of how our product helped them solve it, and results. However, the customer story (content type) could be presented as a video, an animated slideshow, or an article; these would be content formats. :-)

Agree! But in my company, the SEO team is vociferously in favor of including FAQ sections wherever possible to boost visibility in search. They say doing so adds to content depth and complexity (better signals for search algorithms) and mimics search queries (“What is x”). Constant battle. :-)
