Visiting family in Portland Oregon today. Must have missed something, because I have not yet stumbled across a war zone.
At lunch, I overheard 3 families visiting after (evangelical) church this morning ... namely discussing how they liked the band.
Seems OK for everyone, come on down!

Yes, we're all "having issues"
Microsoft Outlook is down (and has been intermittently for days).
The good news: less incoming email for everyone else on Monday.

As a break from the news, here are two photos I took & personalized yesterday morning
These are from walking around the Poulsbo, Washington waterfront in the fog. (Unedited point and shoot phone images.)

Waiting on this to hit Seattle tonight.
On the plus side, an Internet outage would temporarily pause doomscrolling.

In favorite things today: my HP 15c calculator, a birthday gift from my parents 40 years ago.
It still works, has been my primary calculator for 40 years, and sold me forever on using RPN calculators.
And in 40 years, I have only replaced the batteries twice!

Politics is important here ... yet I also love to cook. This is my most recent favorite cookbook!
Although it's vegan, you'll love it even if you're not vegan (and I won't tell if you add cheese or meat)
Plantas by Alexa Soto. Every recipe I've tried has been accurate, easy to follow, and superb.

Literally got these back to back just now from @kenwhite.bsky.social and @nytimes.com
This is why I pay for content from just one of the two. I'll let you guess which one ... or even better, listen to the podcast.

Excellent reminder, thanks. Reminded me and I just cancelled Netflix ... after 21 years!
But oh no, I'll lose the personalized recommendations (that I never use)

Reverted back from a "verified" handle. For my domain that uses my name, couldn't solve DNS issues (long story)
Then I used my blog domain. Worked fine ... except refs to me would show that URL instead of my name" (as attached).
That's no good IMO, so I've returned to original bsky handle.
