At the Council for Court Excellence, we work towards an equitable and accessible legal system in the District of Columbia. Through research, collaboration, advocacy, and public education, we create positive change and increase civic engagement.
CCE believes justice reform efforts require recognizing history, repairing harm, and building systems that honor dignity and sovereignty. We must include Indigenous voices and center truth-telling, community-led solutions, and restorative practices that reflect those groups' values. (3/3)

CCE is committed to its continued mental health care advocacy on behalf of D.C.’s justice-impacted and at-risk residents. By pursuing evidence and community-based interventions that address District mental health care needs, we can work towards a more resilient, supportive, and safer D.C. (3/3)

Studies show that persons managing mental health conditions are more at-risk for justice involvement. Additionally, marginalized groups have reduced access to care, which contributes to the long-standing trend of minority groups comprising a majority of justice-impacted individuals. (2/3)
