In my years working in public interest communications, I learned reporters often have the story they plan to tell already formed in their minds before they contact “sources” and will use—and even shape—what is told to them in the service of that narrative.

Peter Coviello testifies to that process:
Maybe Don’t Talk to the New York Times About Zohran Mamdani
It’s remarkable, the people you’ll hear from. Teach for even a little while at an expensive institution—the term they tend to prefer is “elite”—and odds are that eventually someone who was a studen…

Interview starts about 8 minutes in. The guys at the Hilliard Beacon did a great job! HB 15 has forced a 73 MW gas fuel cell to power a data center on an unsuspecting community with no public hearing - just as I said it would. This will emit 1.45 million lbs of CO2 per day. More here.

Much of what is in Sub SB 219 was already vetoed once when they tried to put it into the budget bill this spring. This is a series of favors for the oil and gas industry at the expense of fracking public lands. If they pass it again, Gov. Mike DeWine needs to veto it again.

Here are my three truths about climate:
1. We fail if we don’t end free-to-pollute fossil fuel model. Period. Game over.
2. A crash looms, prefigured by collapse in home insurance/mortgage markets.
3. There are true villains in the story, and we have to tell it that way.

The United States could be doing this, but no. Instead we are handing the future to China.
In just six months, China added 256 gigawatts (GW) of new #solar capacity — more than the entire solar infrastructure ever built by the United States. That’s enough clean energy to power over 40 million homes, marking the fastest renewable expansion in human history.
