I think Canada is just being practical- take the same steps as Mexico on tariffs and you have a lot more strength. Yes there are genuine border issues with Mexico but I don’t think tariffs change anything when violent cartels are involved and most fentanyl is bought in by US citizens

Mexico & Canada ganging up is a sensible move

The US electoral system is so messed up - blows my mind that they all freely accept the rigging of elections through widespread gerrymandering

While Trump is like that food you tried & found awful - but as time goes by & people rave about that food, you decide to try it again. And as always happens- you try it again & it was even worse than you remember. And you wonder why you tried it again.

Ah - thank you!

How does is it differ from the current legislated requirements & is this a variation of the existing scheme?

Please do X!

Awww what a lovely compliment

Did you get a chance to go into the Old Town or just a flying visit?
December 10, 2024 at 12:05 PM
Is that a real photo?

Yeah - I don’t think anyone trusts this govt around this ban given they are so clueless about SM. I still expect a lot of them will withdraw from the Australian market because compliance is too complex & penalties too high

Bit nippy looking

If Victoria didn’t have such lax corruption laws & weak IBAC legislation that gives the body so little ability to do anything- then Victoria would easily more than equal NSW in having Premiers & Ministers removed for corruption

I’d be interested to see them play the Iceland cricket team

Yeah - when even Trey Gowdy is coming out and saying prosecution on the gun charge was dodgy I’m inclined to believe it was. But there seems no doubt on the tax evasion & that it is usually prosecuted when this extensive
December 2, 2024 at 5:42 AM
Yeah this was definitely the love of a father protecting his son rather than any unjust conviction(esp. over the tax dodging). I also think the blindness of his love meant Hunter did a shit load of really stupid & selfish things and got away with it despite the harm to those around him.

Oh boy - just started listening 😳 The judge is pissed.

And the ban is useless when you look at that ABC article on the mum who set up TikTok a/c’s for her underage kids knowing it was likely harmful. Would still be able to do it under the ban. Laws regulating algorithms, content for children & better processes for removing bullies would be 100x better
December 1, 2024 at 5:01 AM
This article is really about a mother who set up her underage kids on SM against the explicit terms of the site (eg TikTok is 13yrs & over)- knowing it could be harmful. She’s now had a “come to Jesus moment” that happened despite the ban. The media around the ban just reminded her to do something

Yeah saw that and it really does mystify me. I’m really interested to see who goes to see it

Had never heard of it until discussion on it blew up on Twitter a couple of years ago. Asked people irl if they had heard it - only one person had but overwhelmingly it was unknown. So maybe it was a thing for a small age group at some point 🤷‍♀️
November 30, 2024 at 11:12 PM
Oh shite - we all knew they’d easily get around it & it would worsen the problems☹️
November 30, 2024 at 7:45 AM
That’s a great article by Maggie - she’s spot on
November 29, 2024 at 8:47 PM
Oh no - and whenever you would have used them you’ll remember this with annoyance- that’s annoying
