Opinion Haver, mostly. Verified Bluesky “Rude” designation, hell yeah 👍
Found out a former coworker and good friend of mine passed away suddenly and very recently.

Hold your loved ones close. Check in on your friends.

Absolute fucking joke. I hope you fuckers lose subscribers by the millions.
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

I always thought the Halo series was boring and unimaginative and I tried to get into it throughout the years but got bored maybe an hour into each game. So it tracks the creator would also be a boring and unimaginative racist.

I enjoyed Alien: Earth for the most part. Some really good episodes mixed in with some stuff where my partner and I were laughing at the crazy plot holes. Also while I was rooting for the cybernetic kids to win, the ending kind of let me meh. And not just because it’s kind of a ‘cliff hanger’…

Hall & Oates, Todd Rundgren, Garth Brooks (with a dash of ‘Chris Gaines’ for an overly long periods.)

Anyhow. Started Borderlands 4 last night, seems like it could be fun. Wish I could a sibling to play with me but we all have bills to pay and they all have families to feed. Also stared Cronos, and that game seems pretty cool. Really love the visuals and general vibe.

Also this is a much more important news story.
Three teens were critically wounded Wednesday in a shooting at a high school in the foothills of suburban Denver, including the suspected shooter, authorities say.

And I’m not an AI enthusiast. But I’m also not going to simply disbelieve what it’s capable of because of a vague definition of what is and isn’t art. Not that I believe it creates art, just a facsimile based on models.

I do wonder how wasteful the generative AI coming from China is…

Watching videos on the follies of AI but also exploring videos and even experimenting a bit with free online open source AI, and there’s definitely a disconnect there as AI is really becoming way more evolved than ever before while capitalist venture of it are thankfully zeroing out.

Wild times.

Bluesky has a vibrant reality tv junkie community that I spend a lot of time blocking on sight these days. If I see big brother or love island posts, I look at your timeline to see if it’s just a one-off or if you’re truly unwell. If it’s the latter, block immediately.

Stayed up way too late last night beating Donkey Kong Bonanza. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable platformer and definitely a strong evolution of Super Mario Odyssey. I also love how the game immediately drops you into a ‘continue/new game plus’ mode after credits have officially rolled.

We visited DC too. A couple of things we did:

1. Visited the African American History Museum and especially the bottom three floors (because that’s all we had time for and prioritized.)

2. Rode rental bikes about 18 miles on the Capital Crescent Trail from DC to Bethesda, Maryland and back.
