Bikes on busses: very good! Would prefer more instruction on step through frames though, I strapped my bike on very poorly on the way north and it nearly fell over several times, but strapping the bike near the rear had much better results. Looking forward to more busses having this in future!

Can the cyclist not cycle on bumps? Are they riding a unicycle?

Have they finally done it? After all this time of half-assing it?

Passing Te Huia on my commute home, love Te Ara Ki Uta Ki Tai

A new Pak n save has opened near where I live! But before I discuss that, I'll talk about a new cyclist friendly roundabout that's opened right behind it. It's a little awkward to use with very sharp turns but I'm real glad that this has been built and has helped make cycling safer out East!

I love Ōtautahi

Recently went on the brand new Point Chevalier cycleways! Very impressed with the quality and smoothness of the cycleway, how safe it feels, and how I don't feel like I need to slow down (much) at intersections with cars! Fantastic job from AT, wishing for many more cycleways like this one

As posted by @mrjkirwan.bsky.social on Twitter, the first test train has officially gone through the southbound CRL tunnel!! Awesome to see the progress of this project and looking forward to its opening!

The time savings on the Pukekohe line re-opening compared to the previous 394 are staggering. From doors closed at Pukekohe to the doors closing on the train at Papakura, there's an approximate 25 minute saving, helping bring Pukekohe much closer to the rest of Auckland.

Pukekohe station has officially re-opened!! The new station is pretty nice, has water fountains, two sets of bathrooms and is fully accessible. The trip takes around 15-16 minutes from Papakura, with a bit of a dwell due to timetable padding

I am BEGGING for the bluesky Instagram clone to come out, because what the hell is this??? I DO NOT WANT my chat data to be used to train AI, I DO NOT WANT AI to summarise my chats for me. LET ME TURN IT OFF.

A tour of Wellington's Matangi units! Very good trains that can run with up to three 2 car sets joined together, and balance longer distance rides with overhead bag racks and comfy seats with shorter distance commuting with lots of standing room.

Another great thing is the fantastic bicycle parking and amenities! With shelters over Locky docks and large bike racks on both sides of the station. Wish Auckland stations had this good bike parking

Paraparaumu station was one of the fantastic stations I visited in Wellington, with a fantastic bus interchange and waiting area, nice plaza and generally a very good station. If only Snapper had integrated fares with busses, then this would be truly fantastic

Just came back from Wellington!! Had an absolute blast, but was also really impressed with the improvements to the cycling network and the great public transport network! I'll do more dedicated posts on those later, but Wellington has done a great job at improving its cycling infrastructure + PT

Despite being really dangerous to get to by bike, Sylvia Park has some wonderful bike parking facilities so you can park close to the store that you want to get to!

There is space on the CRL... kinda. From what I remember this will run as an east-west line from Henderson to Glen Innes, but as Te Waihorotu is future proofed for a north shore line, this could potentially in future grow to an Airport to Albany line. (North shore running would require the level /1

Never seen busses charging at the new chargers they've installed at pamnure before! Found out they have two charging ports too!
