The flier for Josh Kraft's fundraiser tomorrow.

Not sure if there are ordinances governing the legality of using the official city seal on non-official documents... but I'm damned sure that's the New York City skyline. 😂

Watching the first Christopher Reeves Superman film for the first time in at least 20 years and it holds up and is still fantastic. I can’t recommend it enough.

I deactivated my Facebook account immediately following the election. I just found out about the changes to moderation that Meta is making and as a result I just deactivated the rest of my Meta accounts and deleted Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp from my phone.

I find myself in a weird space. Throughout my life, I have tried convince others how important it is to keep up with the news. After the 4 year nightmare of the first Trump administration, I really find myself wanting to disconnect for my own mental health. It’s too important to look away…but…

One thing I wonder about headed into 2025 is how many people will defend the targets of the incoming administration? Will we stand up for the neighbors being rounded up? Will we prevent an assault when it happens in front of us? I like to hope so, but suspect that we’ll turn away and hide instead

The incredible ability to structure one's timeline and to easily block toxic people and trolls is what will, hopefully, set Bluesky apart from the existing social media dumpster fire.

Please open the floodgates! With the man child announcing that X will require a paid subscription, this is the time for a big influx of users. The only thing missing at Blue Sky is the breaking news utility.

Bluesky, what is the most enjoyable thing you’ve read this summer? Could be fiction or non-, a new book or a re-read, whatever…..

This article describes a prompt injection “attack” that can be used to bypass filtering of problematic queries and “attacker” could use against an LLM. The article is a bit alarmist but that’s unsurprising for any new tech that becomes available.

After a couple of weeks, I just love the vibe on Blue Sky. The lack of toxicity gives me that Ted Lasso feel good dopamine hit. I still hit the bird app for breaking news, but, increasingly I can find that here too.

Turned 50 this year, most certainly NOT becoming more conservative as I age.

Lunch at Bit Bar in Salem today. First time at the new location. The nostalgia is strong. The difference is that I’m no longer a tween with no money. I’m going to play all the games. The cocktails are pretty good too!

Alongside the lack of literal Nazis, the near total absence of cryptobros is just incredibly refreshing.

I’m often struck by how truly pathetic, immature and insecure right-wing men are. It would be funny if they weren’t just so insanely toxic and destructive. They are afraid of everything and everyone and their first instinct is always to lash out and often to do so violently.

On this day, 2015, another brick in the wall of bigotry and inequality was removed. These victories are hard won and recently we've been seeing the backlash. Remember the victories, and keep pushing for the next victory. https://www.oyez.org/cases/2014/14-556

Had dinner at oak Long Bar + Kitchen in Boston last night. Overall, it was OK. The cocktails were all a bit unbalanced (too sweet), the food was well prepared but not very creative. Service was good. The decor was terrible, very unfocused and incongruous. 3 out of 5 from me.

I love the process of making interesting and innovative cocktails. It is amazing how much variety of flavor is possible. I catalog my journey through this hobby on instagram here. Follow if you like that kind of thing!

I see no reason that my first post shouldn't include a picture of one of my cats. Also, I *really* hope Blue Sky becomes the destination for breaking news.
