This will make a difference!

The current risk-averse licensing landscape doesn't help music venues / clubs / hospitality venues) to thrive & build vibrant communities.

Please consider filling in this short survey (& tagging / sharing).

We were humbled that so many community spirited people threw their hat in the ring to become a director of Causing a Scene. We honestly could have taken everyone.

Meet our brilliant new board, which includes 4 ‘continuity’ directors and 4 fresh faces. What a team! causingascene.org/people

The plans could make it easier for venues to serve food outside and host more live music, in a bid to "remove unnecessary barriers".

Pubs could stay open longer under licensing reforms
Changes to licensing rules could see relaxed rules around live music and serving food outside.

Very sad news. Our thoughts are with the friendly and knowledgeable staff who've made PMT such a central part of the Oxfordshire music scene for so many years (in happier times, Oxford was the chain's first new store outside its native Essex). bsky.app/profile/oxfo...
Music shop PMT, a fixture on the Cowley Road since the 1990s, has closed after the chain went into administration. Latterly rebranded from Professional Music Technology to Play Music Today, the company had 15 stores across the UK.

This is being debated in parliament today and would be a gamechanger for music venues if it’s adopted as primary legislation

If you get the opportunity, take a look at it in full desktop landscape format, which shows off the fab photos of @ianhanham.bsky.social and Jason Warner at Fyrefly Studios at their best.

Good news. A new grassroots live music venue and bar is on the way. The Underground Bar will be in George Street (where Cirkus used to be) and will be run by the people who previously ran Kiss Bar.
