Yeah right, a low/mid-range camera will have a better quality/price ratio than shit like this. Given the minuscule objective diameter and the way it's held I'd be surprised if it can take unblurry pictures in less than full daylight

If you run it on an album url it will download the whole album yeah. For the metadata I just checked and the file does have title, artist, album name, year, track number and album cover. You need to add --format flac though to get the best quality if flac is available

(which is contradicts the tiling being regular).
So like, a regular tiling can't not fit somewhere without not fitting everywhere

So this "deviation" grows along a particular direction, which doesn't cause problems until the 8th side because that direction is a symmetry of the circle.
But on a sphere you can't have a value continuously change like that without breaking the symmetry of the sphere in some way

I think I get but I have a hard time putting it in words.
Say you're trying to make polygon with 46° angles, it will slightly deviate more and more with each side from where an octahedron would have been and then the 8th edge runs into the first.

youtube-dl works on bandcamp too. Is it because you need functionalities it doesn't have?

The good thing about soulseek is mainly that it has nearly every music in existence

The term makes sense in that there are deep insight linking information theory to physics, but I wish they stopped using it when communicating to the general public

It's one of those scientific concepts with a misleading name. "Observation" in QM just means energy exchange with the outside world (so any interaction).

I've checked the math stuff and it's not bad but even the for college stuff is taught how you normally teach lower highschool math i.e. they don't prove things or really show why it's like that and there's no rigor. So I'd recommend reading some college textbooks in parallel for higher level stuff.

Honestly this is kind of fighting over scraps. For an average person, the majority of their CO2 emissions from internet use is from watching video. Youtube, Netflix etc. Because it uses much more bandwidth and data.
November 21, 2025 at 1:35 PM
It accounts for the AI part (both training of models and usage). They state before that that the emissions from networking and material production are several order of magnitude smaller. And even if it somehow took 100 iterative queries to produce a good text that's still less CO2 than the human

I'm not saying to launder the catholic church or whatever, just it's good to not have a vision of those things that's just 'bad stuff happened because the guys at the top decided to do bad stuff.'

a large majority of the time. Members of the clergy, especially lower local clergy don't necessarily represent official doctrine. And obv in the vast area and time christianity spans you can find counterexamples to anything.

At the time and place the Malleus Maleficarum was written it was.

Idk the details of what you're referring to but I don't think it's necessarily in contradiction with the official position of the catholic church condemning the belief in witches as heretical and not being behind witch accusations
September 27, 2025 at 2:57 PM
It's pretty much always been the position of the church that witches don't exist. The Malleus Maleficarum is an oddity

Chasers and pedophiles are not acting on compulsions. And while some do the large majority of people who believe they are "addicted to porn" aren't either.

Isn't this just downstream of how the websites are structured? Posting something on a collective space where everyone will have to see its title vs posting something on your personal blog. But ofc if they apply this logic to screens it's a category error

Incredible how some of you people will write a full paragraph going off what vibe a term has instead of admitting you don't know what it means.

This is pretty much the opposite belief system to radical feminism

From what I've seen the "bad rep" doesn't seem to be founded on anything tangible, but some people are weirdly invested in claiming that?

For music I'd go to soulseek or rutracker though

The main issue I have with video argument though is you just can't quickly glance over the argument being made, the watch time is mostly incompressible. And if you want to come back later for a passage good luck finding it. Downloading the subtitle file on youtube solve this to some extent but still

The hostility seems pretty dogmatic, there are very good essays in video form, on the other hand I think they do kind of have a point in that it's a medium where the incentive structure and consumption patterns deprioritize being correct compared to text

Pretty much the same has happened over here fairly quickly between the beginning of june and now
July 15, 2025 at 10:02 AM
idk how it's in Portland but the main reason for Europe having less AC is that there are much more concrete/stone buildings (except in Scandinavia I think) which largely solve the problem through thermal inertia. Well up to a point

If I understand it correctly, the first steps are just to get the list of tweet URLs, but then you submit that list and the actual archiving is done by the wayback machine scrapping twitter, it doesn't go through your machine
