I’ve lost interest in social media. Deleted Facebook. Deleted Instagram. Not planning to delete Bluesky, but this social media empty feeling is here too. It was fun and exciting once. It’s not now. The world burns. I’m going outside to be in the real burning world.

I didn’t do the #artadventcalendar but wanted to share this photo I made of a box of chocolates with a Nutcracker Suite theme. A gift from my daughter in law who works at the chocolate factory making chocolate all day long. Horrible job but someone has to do it. #photography

I feel this keenly. Especially in anticipation of giving up things that no longer serve for 2025.
Like everybody else, I feel conflicted about my social media habit. I don't think I've seen things explained so clearly as @annehelen.bsky.social does here. I'm not logging off, but I can see the benefits of doing so. Great read.

My candy jar #terrarium is looking so pretty right now. I had to rescue all these plants from the isopods in my other terrariums, which find these delicious. They have all made a great comeback here. #proudplantmom

Imagine not having to do any of this baloney. When the idea of Universal healthcare was floated, there were screams of “that’s socialism”.
When mega “health insurance” companies, systematically deny coverage, or drop entire communities, there should be screams of “that’s predatory capitalism!”

Now that Bluesky is in my life I find myself using facebook to state my political thoughts and Bluesky to post my in the moment happies, my creative moments, my favorite photos, fun conversations with friends. But I don’t feel like getting political here. Facebook is dirty enough for that behavior.
