He's also doing it on Election Day in FL and WI, which might inspire some Ds to pay attention and get to the polls.

(BTW get to the polls, friends!)
I understand the cynicism of people asking why Cory Booker is filibustering when no legislation or nomination is involved. But he's taking the narrative and unifying Democrats a day before TFG's April 2 announcements, and right before the April 5 protests. This is strategic.

Corey Booker, a moment ago, after 22+ hours on his feet, compellingly : ‘Who are we, if you don’t think this is a moral moment where the character of our country is being tested?’

Cory Booker is about to hit 23 hours on the Senate floor. I'm guessing--and hoping--he's got his eye on Strom Thurmond 's record of 24 hours and 18 minutes on the Civil Rights Act. I found the apology for the party's inaction to be quite moving, and he's drawing attention to issues across the board

Writing advice:

Never finish writing a scene, because then you'll be stuck wondering what the next scene should be. Make your whole book one scene.

Well, here’s some more work I have to purge from my library. Is it really that hard to be a decent human being?
I knew this piece about Neil Gaiman was in the works, and still, I felt sick reading it.

Unconditional Basic Income would solve a lot of societal problems (and actually save us money).
Please stop telling me that crime must be deterred. Studies have shown over and over again that in the context of criminal law, deterrence theory is a myth. It doesn't work. It never has. That's a copaganda myth.

Poverty is the cause of most crime. Eliminate poverty, and you eliminate most crime.

Oh my god. What's wrong with those men? I am very pleased my wife earns more than me, because that's how we get nice things! If she earned less, we would probably be homeless.
Pretty sure it's not up to women to "think carefully" about taking a higher-paid job than their partner. It's up to their partner to get the fuck over himself and be pleased for her.
