The government’s stance on Palestine echoes Arendt’s “banality of evil”: officials turning genocide into paperwork and an administrative task; treating a moral abyss as mere policy risk.

Worth a read, for everyone putting the boot into Labour
@mountaintui.bsky.social doing the Mahi again to add nuanced and well researched perspective to the criticisms of NZLabour from ALL sides.
I didn't study politics and I'm no expert in political strategy but I understand that there is a game to play and have to trust Labour know what they're doing...
I Hate Labour! But...Wait...Why?
Labour suffered heavy misinformation during and post Covid. They've done well to regain public trust.

So, against my better judgement, I ordered three large, heavily discounted raised garden beds with arches from an outlet store online. "They" were delivered today. This is a picture of what arrived 🙃

I promised someone (I think perhaps you @katydidnz.bsky.social) lemons but not 100% sure who it was! Anyway, if we're mutuals and you're in Kāpiti and would like some, hit me up!

Brassicas are looking good. Last year my brussels sprouts didn't get any bigger than peas, so this is progress!

Today's bake. Made a rye loaf and put some corned beef on the shopping list after all that talk of reubens!

Just re-upping this because I’m hearing journalists echoing Seymour’s line. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT game over. National and NZ First still have a choice to make and we can help them make the right one. Keep going team!
On RNZ’s political panel I heard that Seymour has been saying that Nats & NZ1st HAVE to support RSB because they said they would support THE Bill in Coalition Agreements. That’s pure rhetoric: THE Bill didn’t EXIST at the time so the Agreements have to be read as contingent

Would anyone in Otautahi have a reasonably priced chest freezer for sale? Ours died in spectacular fashion yesterday, we have been able to save the food thanks to a friend having some freezer space, there's six of us in the house and we make a lot of meals to freeze. Worst possible timing for us 😭

I'm furious they shot the elephant who charged those two women in Zambia. She was protecting her calf - what will happen to it now? People should stay away from elephants in the wild.

No matter how he dresses up the words, Destiny held an Islamophobic march today and I'd like to see stronger condemnation for that. March 15 didn't happen in a vacuum.

People chanted "no immigration without assimilation" during the rally, setting what appeared to be rainbow flags on fire.
