Murdoch's goal was destroy the BBC - remove his biggest competitor. & With Gibb as such a dominant player there bringing in his mates like Prescott (who worked for Murdoch) they are destroying it from within. You are right though that liberals are too wet against players like Farage & Trump.

I don't know if it's that they are Oxbridge educated. It's more that they are right wing and support Farage.
