I need everyone to stop what they’re doing and read this book; I started it last night and finished it this morning, breaking only to sleep.

Dogs put everything in perspective. I was standing in the kitchen, indulging in a moment of panicked news-reading, when Cheskie arrived to lightly push his butt into my shin.

Imagine being so willing to quietly shit-talk the majority of English literature with such a blurb….

This month, the new co-op bookstore Tertulia is offering 25% off pre-orders of THE MÖBIUS BOOK with the code MOBIUS (But if you're new to Tertulia, you can get 50% off your first book.) If you like buying books online but despise Am*z*n as much as I do, this is a great new option.

I wrote about the new Solvej Balle on Substack. It’s a very enthusiastic piece with lots of digressions so I am hesitant to call it a review— open.substack.com/pub/catherin...

I went to bed Friday night and was pretty much unable to get out of bed until this morning and @dsparis.bsky.social took care of me while I was totally unable to do anything for myself and I really appreciate it.

I absolutely **despise*** de-contextualized and/or falsely attributed quotes being presented as if factual. (Apologies for the 2013 clickbait headline; I simply had to do it.) open.substack.com/pub/catherin...

Wanting to read a memoir by a woman who isn’t ambitious is like wanting to eat a meal that was cooked without food. There’s no way to publish without ambition to publish. The literature of not wanting to succeed belongs to fiction. www.nytimes.com/2024/05/25/b...
