Starmer is reforming the Lords by appointing 30 new peers. I never realised you could reform a bloated undemocratic & unelected legislature by bloating it even more with more undemocratic patronage. Every day is a school day, eh? We're a very long way from Labour will abolish the Lords.

The Labour Government will not pay WASPI women any compensation.

Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall said the proposed payments weren't 'fair or value for taxpayer money'.

What is not fair are the false promises made by Labour politicians, who have betrayed the WASPI women.

Does this Labour Gov just really hate pensioners? After innumerable Labour photo ops with Waspi women, Labour has stabbed them in the back & refused compensation. Any comments Jackie Baillie & Anas Sarwar?

This is what really upset me today. It was such a degrading scene. Just what those opposed to independence revel in. We won’t get independence unless we become one voice - no other way. We get independence and then vote in the parties of our choice.

Starmer fans are saying "it's early days, give the man a break".
But you have to start as you mean to go on. Unless good housing/NHS/schools etc plans begin now, it'll be too late in 2029. Every signal we're getting is that he has no intention of launching them.
There are no breaks in politics.
1. The implicit deal behind Starmerism was this: you might not like what he stands for (or fails to stand for), but at least he knows how to win elections. If you want the Tories out, he’s your only hope.
But now? It’s as if he’s going out of his way to lose in 2029. 🧵

BBC Scotland today linking heart attacks directly to Scot Gov rather than NHS in a way that research shows BBC Wales rarely does: talkingupscotlandtwo.com/2023/06/02/n...

So, the disgraced, philandering, former Tory Health Secretary says that Nicola Sturgeon caused 'all sorts of difficulty' during COVID. Perhaps she refused invites to parties? Or didn't agree with 'let the bodies pile high' or PPE being prioritised for England?
