The book!! The ending! Not what happened, you knew whose body would be in the well halfway through & that the nicest people would be (mostly) ok. But pp 374/375! Of course that’s what it was all about, but to state it that explicitly- in this week of all weeks! #theheavenandearthgrocerystore

The end of #aholidayathome like any holiday-back to the fray-Pilates first. It’s been good, yesterday-finishing off things-while sitting in the sun with a cat. Hem of a skirt-a book (3rd this week) music (70s folk rock) casting on a sock & cooking supper, but the book!! That needs a separate post

Reviewing posts from days #5&6 maybe I overestimate the effect of #homecooking on my waistline #win

Almost nothing to report for day#6 of #aholidayathome permission to be (nearly) idle - tried on the skirt I made on day#5 waist too big! (why do I sew without trying on?) fixed that. Examined holes in four pairs of #handknitsocks mended one pair chucked the rest. Cooked, watched TV

Day #5 Relaxed and experiencing a feeling of achievement, Things Have Got Done this week (sewing, reading and cooking* today) I’m thinking that I might take #aholidayathome every six weeks or so
* not so good for the waistline

“I have spent many hours with those cats, and still I am amazed at how perfectly they reject everything it means to be in prison”. Every day is #Caturday prisonjournalismproject.org/2024/10/23/c...
When Kittens Came to My Prison, I Had Not Petted One in 15 Years
I had not touched a cat in 15 years when an orange kitten wandered over to sit with me in the grass.

In my small bathroom, about to jump (clamber!) into bath when I miss treading on a newt by an inch. Fascinated to see it but how did it get in? Re-homed it after time spent Googling sites on newt welfare. By then bath was tepid.

So here’s the update. The billionaire owner of the Guardian preparing to get rid of a core part of the news org + 100 journalists.
If you’re a Guardian or Observer reader, please share this. The need for a strong, free & independent press couldn’t be greater. Yet, here it is.

Don’t! Just don’t please.! Keep the independence of the Guardian, it’s all we have left of a free press

I’m not going to leave X just yet - I hate that sense of being driven away from a place I used to love. But after one day on here, I already know how much prefer it.

So if you see this and would be kind enough to share it to let people find me, that would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.
