Seconding Kødbyens Fiskebar, it’s incredible.

Make sure to get Stjerneskude at least once on your trip, doesn’t have to be Copenhagen. The best I had was at Det Gamle Røgeri in Hanstholm (worth a look if you want to see WWII bunkers). The workers museum in Copenhagen (included in the museumpass) is the coolest museum I’ve ever been to.

Christiana is a really cool neighborhood to check out. They kicked the hard drug users out a few years ago so it’s a more family friendly then what it used to be; still a cool commune. The church of our savior is a must-do; the view from the top is incredible.

In Copenhagen I’ve stayed near the Enghav Plads metro station twice. A little out of the way, near the meat packing district (tons of great food), and the metro/biking means you’re still just a short trip away from the touristy spots. They have music in the plaza all supper, unsure about the spring

I can DM you more specific suggestions or keep replying here, nbd either way. My parents have spent about 3 1/2 months there at this point so I still have a lot of things to cover myself.

In Copenhagen the city pass is $$$ so if you aren’t interested in Tivoli give it a hard pass and go for the Parkmuseerne pass instead and just get a daily transit card (unless you truly will be biking everywhere; my partner doesn’t bike so we did that instead on our recent trip).

In that case for non-Copenhagen places I recommend Hanstholm, Skagen (two seas meet and you can stand with opposite waves hitting you), Klitmoller for Cold Hawaii, Billund if Lego land is your jam, Odense and Aarhus are also with a visit. Biking options are EVERYWHERE which is great.

How much of Denmark are you interested in seeing/what are typical things you look for on trips? I’ve been twice for about two weeks total and have a ton of cousins who live throughout the country. Any food restrictions?

We’re definitely lacking. Hey Bear had a good one but can’t confirm if it’s still good or not after the ownership change.
