These snowboarding boots are destined for Fort McMurray, AB, which is home to 3000 wood bison. I remember driving north of the city when I was a kid with my grandparents to go look at them, it was pretty amazing to see so many grazing together.

AI art has often been on my mind in the last year. For my painting "Degrade I" for WOWxWOW's "Follow the Universe" group show, I wanted to incorporate more physicality in my paintings, to focus on the tangibleness of traditional painting, versus the immateriality of AI art.

I usually paint the eyes first. It feels like such an integral part of a painting, if I can't get the eyes right, might as well burn the whole thing down, ya know? North America's tallest bird, the whooping crane is at risk/endangered in Alberta.

For a few years I did local markets, but then I was scammed by a fake market and haven't really delved into it again. The market vendor FB groups are abundant with scammers.
Alberta artists, do you have a favourite market that is a good fit for art and art adjacent items, like pins and stickers?

Sometimes the first pass on a painting ain't so bad.
It's been an age since I painted a human skull, I think it was a figure drawing class in university that I last drew a skeleton. Getting back to some basic forms and interesting lighting for next month's release on @everydayoriginal.bsky.social

I tend to want to do things by the book. As an artist and a small business owner, insurance is such a big expense and the products available don't seem to be a good fit. I know many artists probably forgo insurance and take the risk, but for those that do have insurance, anyone wanna chat about it?
