Went to opening evening for Captain America: Brave New World last night. I really liked it. Quite a bit, actually. Love Mackie’s Cap & how the story went. Also really digging the main villain. Want to discuss in this 🪡 for those that have seen it. If you don’t want spoilers, don’t click & scroll.

Reminder: PRESIDENTS DAY PROTESTS @ your City Halls, State Capitols, and the White House.

Also- OPT OUT of any Presidents Day Sales from the companies that support this shit. Opt for places of inclusion such as Costco, REI, & BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES!

LET FREEDOM FUCKING RING!

just worth reiterating that every. single. Democratic senator voted for Rubio, even though they knew he was a cringing quisling racist piece of shit.

because collegiality. or something.

Warren, Sanders, Andy Kim, Ossof, Warnock. they all voted for him. they all signed off on this racist bullshit.
It really is incredible how much control Elon Musk has over US policy right now. Also, Rubio is pathetic.

ensuring no single branch becomes too powerful; essentially meaning they are separate from one another but hold equal weight in the functioning of government… @uscongress.bsky.social y’all have become completely cucked. Somewhere deep down, you know this and you’re not flexing your equal power.

Separate but equal branches of government" refers to the system established in the US Constitution where the government is divided into three distinct branches: the legislative, executive, and judicial, with each branch having its own specific powers and responsibilities…🪡

If the Dems have sense, they need to normalise the phrase “Trump Tax”.

Eggs, coffee, gas - all going up because of the Trump Tax.

If you’re paying more for something, it’s probably because of the Trump Tax.

The world is watching on as the US imposes economic sanctions on itself.

Anyone else wonder what the frequency of interaction among whisky houses were like in the 1800s and early 1900s. Like did the Dewars and Walkers hang out at the same clubs when in the same cities? Was there a whisky guild that they all belonged to? I feel like I should know more about this already.

Just had a family member tell me that the “democrats are fucking us” when speaking about healthcare. Even after all the news in the past two weeks, this is where they are. These dipshits think that their party is trying to fix it for everyone and establish a form of healthcare that serves the people

Thinking about leaving Japan makes me sad. This place, which we seem to have covered a great deal of & in actuality have just started to discover, is a place of serene ancient beauty blended w/modern convenience and wisdom. I now understand why @jakehparrott.bsky.social said to not make a checklist.

A haiku about our time in Japan so far:

Walk from here to there
Stopping to eat, walk again
Eat again, then walk
