An entire sea cannot sink a ship unless the water gets inside of the ship. The same with the negativity of the world: it can’t bring you down unless you let it get inside of you. We cannot control what happens around us, but we can control our reaction to it. May your day be peaceful, my friends. 😊

Colorado's Rep Brittany Pettersen (D) flew cross-country with her one-month-old to vote against the GOP budget tonight. Dems ended up one vote short. Pettersen was part of an unsuccessful bipartisan push to allow new mothers to vote remotely. #copolitics

This is what House Republicans voted for tonight.

Another reminder that we have socialism for the rich, harsh capitalism for the rest.

“In the second half of life, one has less need or interest in eliminating the negative or fearful…You learn to positively ignore and withdraw your energy from evil or stupid things rather than fight them directly.” - Richard Rohr, “Falling Upward,” p.118.

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.

This year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is crazy awesome! Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jimmy Buffet, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige, Ozzy Osborne, Dave Matthews! Amazing artists and great performances.

Also proving that I too am getting older. That’s ok, it’s still killer music!

It’s important to cherish life, the big events & the small. This might be the 1st time in my life that I have pulled the turkey AND cool whip out of the freezer with enough time to thaw properly. I have just won Thanksgiving! Stick with me for more self-care tips.
