Media studies GCSE and A level would be a good place to start. Gove reforms meant online media got sidelined (!) but hopefully there is a possibility now for a review.

Thought it was actually an interesting film about his wife, mostly from her point of view.

Thank you for posting this.
Just wanted to say how much I loved Mr Wilder and Me. Found it engrossing and very moving.

Agreed. Also loved the way it represented the beginning of the film industry as a wild, lawless, exciting place.

Just finished Kairos by Jenny Erpenbeck, very moving on the experience of East Germans at the time. Thanks for the tip about Goodbye Lenin being on prime, must watch.

Sounds like a great course. Really reccomend Wasp, I teach it as part of a study of the short film form and students are always really engaged by it. How about Lucrecia Martel? Several of her (very)short films are online.

Thank you, I really enjoyed this. The way the film deals with abortion as a practical rather than moral issue is really interesting, particularly given that the subject is rarely discussed in film even now (Saint Frances and Never, Rarely, Sometimes, Always interesting exceptions)

Such an interesting listen, have reccomended to my students. Didn't know about the influence of Hans Balding... Love Varda's references to art.
