This “solo dev” and “only 3 devs” rhetoric is getting truly dangerously out of hand. Investors see this and think “I only have to pay 3 people” and the result is severely overworked and/or underpaid people and a subpar product. We need to stop treating outsourcers and contractors like ghosts.

I'm so ready for genAI to be gone. I want these people to be shamed for the rest of their lives. Not only the VCs who shove it down our throats, but the scientists who let it happen because they don't want to stick their necks out. If you can't handle tough decisions, go paint houses or something.

I actually want more of this. I want ai companies to land all sorts of highly visible contracts with low stakes that they publicly flub. I want everyone to understand this shit doesn't work before it's integrated into something life threatening, like, say, hospital scheduling.
Gamescom's app added an AI feature this year and it did not go well. Folks were overwhelmed with automatically generated meeting requests that they did not want. It generated a lot of stuff, but not value.
They just sent everyone an apology email and disabled the AI.
