Except that "beautiful progress is being made..." ///heavysarcasm///
Demolishing the East Wing of the White House before finalizing plans for what will be built above its ruins is a near-perfect metaphor for Trump's approach to economic policy. The only difference is the wrecking crew doesn’t claim the rubble is evidence of unprecedented growth.

Quick point. Trump cannot silence you, period. He doesn’t have the means or the tools, and if he did he would be too weak to use them. This is a bluff.

It only works if you let it.

Trump and Chinese students. Trump says they're coming in and we need them. And his administration is systematically denying all their visa applications. Typical case of Trump chaos.

Head of NASA Sean Duffy intends to destroy a satellite that collects key data on carbon dioxide and plant health, by causing it to burn up in the atmosphere. The U.S. Dept of Agriculture and private agriculture firms use the data to forecast crop yield, drought conditions and more.
Why a NASA satellite that scientists and farmers rely on may be destroyed on purpose
The Trump administration has asked NASA staffers to draw up plans to end at least two satellite missions that measure carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, according to current and former NASA employees.

"Woke" begins and ends with a rejection of bigotry. It is a binary concept. If you are "against woke", you are explicitly stating that you are in favour of racism and prejudice. There isn't another interpretation of this.

The White House is taking new steps to undermine every international student at our universities.

It has approved a new rule restricting student visas to 4 years max. That's not long enough for PhD students, or about half of undergrads, to finish their degree.

Likely to enter force within days.

The Roberts Court ended its term by refusing to enforce the 14A's birthright citizenship guarantee and signaling its eagerness to distort the 14A's Equal Protection Clause to snuff out what remains of the Voting Rights Act's enforcement of the 15th Amendment's promise.

These are neoconfederates.
The Roberts Court, in one fell swoop, has:

1) Allowed states to defund Planned Parenthood even for non-abortion care so to...
2) Rip away people's right to choose their care provider under Medicaid while...
3) Advancing a neoconfederate understanding of our civil rights laws.

This can't go on.
KBJ's Medina dissent highlights the twin prongs of the pro-democracy vision she's been articulating since joining SCOTUS: generally deferring to Congress's will and specifically reading Reconstruction-era civil rights laws as robustly as their framers intended: www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...

Back in April, the Trump Admin gave states a choice: comply with ICE, or lose funding for roads, bridges and public transit.

That ultimatum is completely illegal, a federal judge just ruled:
Trump administration barred from using transit funds to force states’ compliance with ICE
“Congress appropriated those funds for transportation purposes, not immigration enforcement purposes,” U.S. District Judge John McConnell said.
