Exactly! Not only is hand washing insanely time consuming, the lye and other soaps destroy your skin. Just awful drudgery. North American washers and dryers work like magic (European machines have a little way to go 🤭)

Adapted into a seven hour film, apparently! Treating the theme of waiting, is that right? 🤭 Waiting and despair? Affecting on many levels!

People complain about doing laundry, but I thank the engineering gods for those modern marvels.
