I shared with my brother in the late 70s and early 80s. We had no rads. Hot water bottles all round.

My dad (no longer with us) once wrote a lovely essay about getting electricity in their house in the 50s. I must dig it out. I remember a line in it about his mother just standing there flicking the switch even though the power hadn't yet been connected.
