… bc my grams made them all drop out when they turned 16 to go work. He went to comm college in his mid-20s (my childhood) and got an AS degree. I am so proud of him that I almost could burst.

My daddy worked in cotton mills and gear manufacturing. I’ve been in those factories. Not a damn romantic nostalgic thing about them. There’s a reason my daddy wanted me and my brother to get our education. (I should also note that my dad is the only 1 of his siblings who got any post-sec educ…) 1/
